TRUE CONFESSION: I doubt I will have borders on this by the time we finish.. let me rephrase that.. I KNOW I will not. I've not started them and I have 800 other projects that must be done before my trips start. So later in September I will do my borders.

- Cheeky Fat Quarter Bundle – 28 FQs in this bundle
- 1.5 yds of white with little red dots
- 1 yd red dots that is in the FQ bundle is now sold out. So if you want to do similar to me select another red print or just wait until you make a few blocks and decide.

Main Street Block 10/12 The Bakery…I used to love going to Rolen’s Bakery with my Mom. The first Birthday cake I can recall was when I turned 6 years old. The cake had a ballerina on it and it was the prettiest cake I had ever seen until Rolen’s Bakery made my wedding cake! Rolen’s also made both of my daughter’s 1st Birthday cakes. So may sweet memories connected with this Bakery!
Its not letting me post my block 10 not sure why
Baking is my favorite thing to do! Unfortunately right now I’m on a no carb diet! Sunday mornings were always donuts and apple fritters from the local bakery! Cider and donuts in the Fall are a must! Love watching the Great English Baking shows! Have been to the famous Carlos Bakery in New Jersey, Buddy the Cake Boss fame!
I was raised in the very small town (at the time) of Sonoma, Ca. We had the best French bakery around. It was always a delight to go in and get fresh bread and pastries.
Hello Pat. Love your free patterns. Have made a few of your patterns for charity quilts for children.
I do a free mystery (no cost to any one) on one of the quilt sites and wonder if I could use this block 10 for my one of my upcoming mysteries. On the last clue, credit would be given and web site provided to direct quilters to your site.
I store my fabric by colors only, some in smaller containers depending on size. All of my fabric is kept in large non-see through cubes. All folded and neatly visible when I pull the cubes out.I have containers that organize my holiday fabric as well. Thanks Pat for all you do. Christine
I love donuts. We have a bakery in Campbellford Ontario, Canada called Dooher’s. It was voted sweetest bakeshop in Canada. It lives up to its name. Donuts, cakes, pies, Chelsea buns—-oh my!! Love this block of the week. Such memories.
If you ever get to Northeast Iowa you HAVE to stop at Pedrettis bakery in Elkader. It’s a family run bakery and they have THEEEEEEE best pastries. People come from miles around just to get a donut at Pedrettis. When kids come home whether as college students or full grown adults with children of their own 9 times out of 10 that is one place on their “have to visit” list. This family also does a lot of volunteer work for the school and one of the Pedretti “children” (she’s full grown with grandkids) works at the school also. So Predrettis is the place to go when in Northeast Iowa.
Just love love love 💕 this sew along! Thank you for the inspiration. I am now also doing the Merry & Bright sew along. Now you have me thinking of taking a trip to the bakery for eclairs 🍰
My nephew just got married & the desert for the guests were donuts & cupcakes. The 1st to disappear were the donuts. My nephew loves donuts so much he wore a tie with donuts on it.
We moved quite a lot as I was growing up. I went to a different school every year! My Dad worked for Remington Rand typewriters, and tried to go into business for himself. I went to 3 different high schools. I only remember the last 50 years of marriage. Now we are RVers and on the road! So forgive me if I don’t remember too many special places. Now it’s chocolate covered chocolate donuts from Entenmann’s ! I Love them!
I keep my fabrics in drawer storage containers by color and, I use my spare bedroom for my sewing area.
Thank you so much. I’ve enjoyed this sew a long so much. You inspire us all. Keep up the great work. You keep us on our toes, I can say for me. Have a saf+e trip
Pat, when I was a kid living in calif it was the Helms Bakery truck that drove through the streets. Donuts and bread. Probably pastries but I loved the donuts so I don’t remember. My daughter and I were in Atlanta a few years ago. One place we visited had a helms bakery truck on display. It was awesome
Oh my gosh. My older two boys have been to San Juan and raved about the guava filled pastries at a store we would call a bakery. Thank you for the visual of them. My youngest son would rather have donuts than cake or pie any day.
