Each week I am sharing a bit about myself with the block. I think about what's going on and it's become a journal of my 2017… which is pretty interesting!
This chunky 'plus' is called my Friendship block, dedicated to my sewing friends that I meet with once a month.
We are all individuals, but when we do the same things, quilt, sew, embroider, knit, crochet, craft … we come together to make something bigger. Our common ground is making. I hope you love this one!

There are 8 light rectangles.. so cut 8… have fun!
The eight 2″ x 3.5″ are the light rectangles that is sewn to both the dark and medium that goes around the edge of the block. Hope this helps, check your pattern again.
Do we need to cut 8 rectangles 2″ X 3.5″ or only 4 rectangles? I only see 4 3.5″ X 5″ rectangles these are sewn to.
Hola Pat Sloan. Todavía continúo con la pierna y el pie malos sin poder coser. Pero sigo atentamente todas sus noticias y proyectos para cuando me ponga bien. El Solsticio me encanta y sus bloques son preciosos. Soy una principiante en el arte del Patchwork. Sus bloques vienen tan bien explicados que ya me veo haciéndolos. El de hoy es muy bonito, me encanta y también su nombre “Amistad” 🙂 Saludos.

I have the Scrappy Planner and I love it. Being a newbie, it’s a great way to also track your progress and new techniques that have been learned!
