  1. I have my old laptop in my sewing room. If I fire it up, it is to print your sew-alongs. (The only ones I do – thank you Pat!) The screen is small and far from me so I seldom watch anything on it but when I do, it is one of your videos – mostly to listen because I love your cheerful voice. Most of the time I am listening to audiobooks on my Amazon Dot and I use it to intercom my hubby who is upstairs.

  2. I watch quilting tutorials while I am quilting!
I am joining in on the ‘Stay At Home’ Quilt Along. I have some precut squares that will work for this, so it’s going to be super scrappy. I will have to go through my other fabrics to see what I can use or the corners. I think those should be a low volume or solid fabric, because my eyes will really need a place to rest during all the scrappiness of the main part of the block.
I sure appreciate all you have been doing to keep us entertained and out of trouble!
    Thank you!!!

  3. I have the TV on but am usually just listening to The Big Bang Theory, Law & Order SUV, Antiques Roadshow, NCIS, NCIS New Orleans, or occasionally a movie.
I have Iheart radio on my phone too.

  4. I don’t have a TV in my sewing room. I like to listen to audio books. I love to read but find I don’t have a lot of time to read books. So I can kill two birds with one stone and listen while I sew.

  5. I usually don’t watch anything unless I need to watch a tutorial to figure out something. I enjoy the peace and quiet. Looking forward to April and the quilt along… I’m thinking about making scrappy blocks from all the other projects I’m currently working on. Thanks, Pat!!!

  6. I listen to my iPod. Due to unfortunate events with our desktop computer, all of the songs on the iPod are over five years old, most older, and many of them are music my kids liked at certain ages. There are lots of Taylor Swift and Brad Paisley songs on it. My contribution was 6 hours of Christmas songs from the CDs I had.

  7. Thanks for thinking of others, all of the time, but especially with all of this unknown stuff. I do appreciate what you do and know others do as well. Thanks again.

  8. I have been catching up on finishing a Traffic Jam quilt. I used the photos on your site Pat and modified the pattern. It’s a great use of scraps from my storage bins. I love random colors and even though I use a design wall, this project is proving to me that I dislike using reds, purples and dark prints. I also watch webinars. In fact, I saw a video Live presentation that I would have paid $99 to go to at QuiltCon in Austin TX. This self imposed stay at home must be very difficult for social butterflies. I’m finding a great sense of purpose in making masks and the group that collects them updates the number donated daily—-800 have been given to a hospital near my house. Thank you Pat, this website is incredibly helpful!!! It keeps me from blowing off steam with friends over COVID-19 news! My husband has been watching every Press conference and updates, and he reads a lot.

  9. When I sew I like to watch old movies, sci fi, mystery, crime, if it’s B&W that’s even better! Otherwise it’s baseball or hockey, now it’s reruns of classic games. I like the QAL a day for April. Great idea!

  10. Im elated! We get another month of day by day with you, Pat! This is going to be so much fun!! Thank you

  11. No TV in sewing area. I listen to books on my Kindle. Listening to The Handmaid’s Tale at the time. My computer is on the top floor and the sewing takes place in the basement. There are times I’d find it helpful to have a computer down there. Am in the process of buying a lovely laptop which will mostly be used for photography, but hoping I get a signal in the basement so I can see quilting sites down there where the quilting takes place. I have no fun fabric. In fact, I have such a small amount of fabric for the April challenge. I’ll save the patterns and as soon as I finish the twin quilts I’m working on, perhaps this virus will be gone and I can go shopping for some fun fabric.

  12. I have old DVD movies and cassette tapes but no technology to play them 9n anymore. Good for you that you kept some books on tape.

  13. I watch film noire and other movies on my iPad, listen to old radio mysteries or books on record. I came across Rosemary and Thyme mysteries and am hooked. But…I start my day out watching you, Pat. I do catch some other quilting persons now during our quarantine time. And I love tutorials.
At first I was not keen on going into April with a daily focus, but having enjoyed your March encouragement soooooo much, I am looking forward to it. I especially like our Stay At Home Quilt. Can’t wait to start it.
God bless you, Pat. You’re a gift to us all.

  14. Hi Pat! last quilt I made with you was ” Be my neighbor” 2016-17, I have still been watching! I printed off the pattern for your “Stay at home” quilt along. we were just extended to another stay home for 30 days in April so it works good for me. I always enjoy your patterns, thank you..stay safe

  15. I usually listen to music when I’m in the quilting room. I have a home based business, so while I’m working, I have You Tube on and I’m watching other quilt shows. Learning new things and what new fabrics are out. Yesterday, I was watching Gundrun’s Video, on using rulers. The Last Homely House East of the Sea, is another show I watch. This lady does all kinds of hobbies. Very interesting!!

  16. I mostly listen to classical music while I quilt . Lang Lang “Piano Book” is one of my favorite albums on ITunes or Spotify.

  17. I like peace and quiet when sewing or maybe a good western movie or tv show. I’m going to do the Stay at Home quilt along. Using sunflower and bee materials. Making for my cousin and hubby for their 50th anniversary in May. They have had to cancel the party celebration. Her favorite flower is sunflower and his favorite song is You Are My Sunshine. Hope it will brighten their already dampened day.

  18. Lately I’ve been watching a lot of new (to me) shows on BritBox and AcornTV. I tend to stream a show through several episodes while I’m sewing or quilting. If it’s new, I get to catch up in the story line and characters… I had to cancel a trip to Charleston so I’m soaking up Southern Charm shows and found “Hart of Dixie”. Love following Miss Fischer’s Murder Mysteries (the costumes!) and the Murdoch Mysteries (clever writing)…and when I need a quilting perk me up I’m tuning in your shows, love Crazy Quilty March! And I’ve been finding more quilting shows than I knew existed. The only time I have pure quiet is when I’m sewing against a time deadline…then I need to concentrate!

  19. I listen to music< I have a little apple ipod attached to a speaker, so I have the music I like on it. Love what you are doing Pat.

  20. Okay, I’m an old lady but I don’t feel like one. I watch YouTube quilting videos while I sew. I watch Lisa Capen videos, Missouri Star Quilt Company videos, your videos, and any other I can find relating to quilting. But for a change, I watch “The Walking Dead,” “Anne, with an E,” and I really enjoy watching Harry Potter movies and the Twilight Saga movies. I do so appreciate all that you are doing to help us get through these distressing times. God bless you and all of us!

  21. I really like quiet after raising 5 children it has become precious to me. Kind of new at quilting. In the April calendar block a day does 1 layer cake do all but smashing little block, back and borders?

  22. I love the idea of the Stay Home Sew Along. Thanks for the fabric suggestions. I have about 10 fat quarters of Tula Pink. I would have never thought of using it without your suggestion. Thanks

  23. I watch or listening to anything and everything. I am a news junkie and watch u tube. Listen to books watch hallmark or dvds.

  24. I don’t watch anything when I sew or quilt. But I do listen to music. I love songs from the 60’s and 70’s.

  25. I only listen to music. I am still working for a group of orthopedic surgeons even though quite a few were played off. Your videos help me unwind from the day! I have tried to follow your calendar or at least think about each days challenge. I just purchased some blue and white fabrics and can’t wait to sew along. Thanks for your laughter and smiles

  26. Much of the the time I listen to music or audio books. Am an ardent baseball fan. That’s my best TV quilting time. This looks to be a empty summer as I think wishful thinking will not shorten the pandemic.

  27. I don’t watch anything. Occasionally I will have my i-pod nano hooked to my wifi speaker and listen to music but most of the time I forget completely and sew in silence.

  28. Perfect silence..lol. In sons newly vacant room,
No tv, no radio, I concentrate better in silence
☺ . I watch your video first thing in morning with breakfast. Thank you !

  29. I listen to the radio. Love the channel of soft rock. Reminds me of my younger days. Plus a cool thing every day they play The Star Spangled Banner at noon. Plus watch you on YouTube and Facebook.

  30. We have loved watching you this past month. You inspire us. I have gone into my room with a new outlook. I’ve visited projects long past put aside and I feel renewed in my craft.
    Thank you and stay well.

  31. Oh dear! I’m a boring quilter/sewer! I like the quiet. I don’t have a TV in my sewing room. I am also a pretty new quilter, so I really need to pay attention to what I’m doing. 🙃 Not that it keeps me from making mistakes. When I do watch TV though, I’m all in!

  32. I am a new FB user, so practicing. LOL also enjoy Investigational Discovery on TV, Animal Planet, Discovery, talk radio and reading. Oh, and LOTS of quilting time. Love your QAL’s Pat, and follow your web blogs. Thanks for all you do to help us continue with our quilting projects, your hints and support for all of us. Oh, and I’m making masks for our hospital. Be well, everyone, and quilt on. 🙂

  33. Hello Pat, I listen to K-Love while sewing, also I watch your videos, Hallmark movies, old Disney movies.

  34. I’ve been watching a lot of different things… YouTube videos of my favorite quilters (like Pat Sloan!), Netflix movies and TV shows like period dramas, some Acorn TV like Midsomer Murders and other British shows, and then listening on my Kindle to some audio books. Sometimes it’s just nice to have quiet, just me and the cat and she’s watching my every move. But having TV on makes it seem like I’m less alone.

  35. I listen to audio books. I am old technology so have cassette tapes and CD’s of books. I also get some from the public library, but it is now closed so I am listening to ones I have “read” before.

  36. Thanks Pat, I am going to join in on the “Stay AT Home” QAL. I ordered my fabric just now, so I may be a few day’s behind the rest of the group in getting my blocks together. I ordered “Just Red” by Zen Chic (Moda)… I love the fabric bundle as some have little crosses on them that kind of looks like the medic emblem… perfect for a quilt being made during a pandemic. : )

  37. I watch YouTube quilting shows, love that you are with us every morning. I watch food channel, Hallmark Channel Movies and Mysteries, or have CDs going to listen to as I quilt. I enjoy reading a lot, so that breaks up my day.
Thank you for your time with us.
Being a widow and I live alone, I love to see what others are doing. As we are all observing the social distancing,I love YouTube, Facebook, video chatting with family and friends.
