I volunteer at our local cat shelter and separate humane which does low income spay/neuter. And last week I volunteered at a HUGE spay/neuter event called the Big Fix and they fixed 1,027 cats and dogs in four days! It was spectacular!
I volunteered at church a lot before we moved. Part of that was making quilts for Lutheran World Relief. Now I belong to Lions Club so the results of my volunteerism stay local.
About that “bell” on the bottom of the medallion on the antique quilt in Philadelphia: Perhaps the makers of the kit that it looked like the Liberty Bell and wanted to make it look like it was ringing.
I noticed that I was unsubscribed at the bottom of one email I received. I never asked to be unsubscribed. The only thing I think may have happened is that last year my computer service was off for a short time. Please re-subscribe my so I can receive your daily emails.
I volunteered for 2 years at my daughter’s 2nd grade class. I was a teacher myself and my daughter thought I could help her with the students who needed extra attention. I loved it so much!! I felt I had a purpose again. Then COVID hit and the school closed. I miss those days. Now she teaches ESL and I cannot volunteer as she has small groups of students in a very small classroom she shares with a colleague.
