  1. Happy anniversary Pat!
For years I used what I could afford to buy for thread. After watching your videos a few years ago, while recovering from surgery, I invested in Aurifil thread. I was amazed with the improvement in my stitching and the overall look. Now I piece with a neutral colour and purchase one spool at a time due to my circumstances. It’s a luxury for me but but an essential one to ensure my quilts last for years. Thank you for the giveaways and the free patterns.

  2. I love thread colors because I also do machine embroidery and garment sewing. For quilts I mostly use neutrals. Happy Sewing!

  3. I use Aurifil neutrals for my piecing and colors to match my applique. It is my “always go to” thread.

  4. I have never tried aurifil thread. I generally use neutrals to piece the quilts but I love colors as well for my ribbon skirts- matching thread to each Color of ribbon

  5. Thanks, Pat, for all your videos. I recently gave my Oliso iron to a friend, so I need a replacement! I always piece with neutral Aurifil thread and use 40 wt for applique when I want it to show up more. Thanks for everything.

  6. I have multiple colours of thread, including the neutrals, Aurifil definitely my favourite thread, just came home from overseas with several colour spools of Aurifil. Would be awesome to win the box if neutrals.

  7. I have recently been using Aurifil neutral thread. I love it easy to thread my machine I also like the feel of its silkiness. I would love to win the Aurifil thread box.

  8. You can really tell the difference with Aurifil. I used to use another brand faithfully, but I got a spool on sale and couldn’t believe how happy my machine was using Aurifil! 😉

  9. I love thread colors. Mostly for embroidery, but for piecing I’m a gray girl. Light gray or dark gray is what I use for piecing.

  10. I love colors, I keep trying to add more so I have a good variety when sewing appliqués and bindings. I use Aurifil thread all the time.

  11. I love thread colors for quilting and thread painting and even topstitching, but for piecing I have 3 basics that I use depending on the main fabric colors.

  12. Aurifil #2600 Dove Gray is my go to thread of choice for piecing……..won’t use any other brand.
    Happy 10th Anniversary!!

  13. I love colorful thread and LOVE Aurifil but I mostly use neutrals. I satisfy my yearning for the colorful threads by looking at them in my Aurifil Color Card. They are so beautiful!

  14. I started using aurifil thread last October and would love to win this box to help build my collection. Especially if the missing spool was put back in. Heehee!

  15. I use neutral colors for most of my sewing and quilting. Occasionally I will use a color if I want the quilting to really show up. Thanks, Pat!

  16. I love thread colors especially when I do applique. Use Aurifil for all my piecing and applique. Love this thread.

  17. I almost always use the same light gray Aurifil for piecing, but have thread in all colors of the rainbow – because I also do a lot of home decor sewing and the closest fabric store is 40 miles away!

  18. I love colored thread. I use it for thread painting, decorative stitching, machine applique, or satin stitching. I use neutral thread mostly for actual quilting. At your suggestion, I have picked up some Aurifil for machine quilting.

  19. Congratulations on 10 years! Time flies when you are having fun. I love aurifil thread. Those neutrals look like then would be very versatile.

  20. I absolutely love buying lots of Aurifil colors but I sometimes forget to use them when I start new projects, so I am often just using their neutrals, which are also beautiful. Since I go through lots of Aurifil Thread it’s a win win situation. Thanks for another nice give away, Pat and happy 10th anniversary for Quilting Along With Pat Sloan!

  21. Congratulations….wow, 10 years! Thank you for all your dedication. I love color but keep that in my fabrics and sew with mostly neural threads. Thanks for all you do for all of us.

  22. Coming from a garment-sewing background, of course I have been of the mindset that I have to be matchy-matchy with thread colors. However, after following quilting sites and dipping my toes into the craft, I am starting to change that tendency and am building up my stash of neutral thread colors.

  23. Colours are very nice to match to the quilt top and back while quilting the quilt. I never have enough neutral threads so would love to win this package. I do love Aurifil thread.
