For piecing, neutrals of pretty much any color are great. For quilting, the colors may rule although it depends on the color of the quilt. Some exceptions: Aurifil #2370 (dark) and #2324 (light, although #5011 also works) are my go-to threads for Civil War reproduction fabric projects for both piecing and quilting. #2692 as recommended by Christa Watson as a “near black” when you need to quilt a quilt with “black” thread or on black fabric.
I love all the Aurifil thread colors – sometimes it’s hard to decide which colors to get! I also love the neutrals for sewing blocks together and top stitchiing!
I love thread almost as much as fabric. I have a variety of colors for piecing. Mainly I use neutrals. Now embroidery thread, that’s a whole different story!
Aurifil thread is the best!
This is awesome. I would love to get this. I started use Aurifil thread because I saw it on your show.
I’ve been looking to get a collection of the neutrals
Happy Anniversary and thank you for your inspiration.
Congratulations on the 10th anniversary, what a great accomplishment. I would love this opportunity to try out the aurifil thread and this would be perfect with the neutral colors.
Aurifil neuatrals are my favorite piecing thread. I keep colors for applique and quilting. Dove grey is my favorite color.
Congratulations on 10 years. Thank you and Aurifil for the opportunity to win. I pretty much sew with white or off white thread depending on what I’m sewing.
Love colors for quilting, Neutrals for piecing.
I have tried other brands. I always go back to Aurifil.
I have threads of all colours from my garment-making days but for quilting, I now prefer picking one neutral and using that spool until it is empty. For piecing nothing is better than Aurifil.
I love all shades of Aurifil thread. I have collected about 40 different colors but I have very few neutral colors because I use them to piece my blocks. But I love to quilt with the colors I have.
I love the look of aurifil threads, what a fabulous gift.
Hx 🇬🇧
Love Aurifil Threads. I use both neutral and colored.
I usually use neutral thread to piece my quilts-most often shades of gray or beige.
Congratulations on your 10th anniversary! You doesn’t need more thread! 😊
Aurifil thread is THE BEST! I go through a LOT of the neutrals. Thank you for the promotion and the giveaway opportunity.
Congratulations on 10 years of a thriving and successful career in the Pat Sloan Community! Many thanks for all you do for each of us! Hugs from Colorado.
I bought the Aurifil box of neutrals a couple of years ago. It is very is handy. Happy 10th Anniversary.
I like to use neutrals for piecing, so it blends into the fabrics. I use colours when FMQ on my domestic machine, especially when making charity quilts for children.
I love all colors of thread to use for applique and for piecing. Sometimes, I like to choose a neutral color if the fabrics have a lot of different colors or sometimes if there is a blend of colors permitting one thread for the piecing. One of the things I do is select several neutral color threads to pack with my sewing machine for travel/classes or if I am making a “class” collection of notions to keep for a quick project. Threads, threads… must have many threads!!!
I usually-like 99%of the time- use basic colors. Grays have been my go to lately!
I loveAurifill thread!
Love your videos and I love, love, love aurifil thread.👍🏻❤️
I love colored threads! And I love Aurifil! Congratulations on your 10th anniversary!
I love thread colors! I love color period, but when I am embroidering, I love having all my embroidery thread out beside me and inspire me. Color makes me smile and think of my mom. She was an artist using various mediums. She is the one who started me quilting at the age of four. I miss her.
I love the neutral colours of thread and I use them all the time for piecing and quilting. I’ve started using more and more Aurifil threads. Thanks for the chance to win the your threads
Would love this thread!
I love Auriful, and piece with their neutral colors. I love colored thread for quilting.
Thank you for your generosity. I only use neutral threads for sewing. This is a wonderful collection 😍
Congrats on your 10th Anniversary! Colorful thread adds extra joy to a sewing project.
I do love colors! But I piece mostly with neutrals. It depends on the quilt. Neutrals are also great for appliqué or top stitching.
A great giveaway!! My fingers are crossed!!
Love Love Love your 10th Anniversary celebration. I love colors but am finding neutrals are so easy to use and a lot less thread changes for multiple projects.
I love colored thread and especially love using Aurifil threads! love the neutrals!
I really prefer Aurifil thread because it leaves less lint. The neutrals are the best when piecing. Thanks for sharing, Pat. Thank you Aurifil!
I absolutely love thread colors! I try to sew primarily with neutrals but color always sneaks in.
I love to have many colors of thread but I have been working on trying to get used to using a few neutral shades in large spools.
I have never tried aurifil thread but would love too. I like the size of the spools.
I love Aurifil threaads, and most sew with whites
I love Aurifil thread!!
I had never used Aurafil thread but on the recommendation of others on your page I bought the small package of neutrals. I loved them and will be using them from now on. This would be a great opportunity for me to build my stock.
I have recently joined your group and am learning so much!
Thank you so much for all that you do and all that I have learned so much from you. I have tried the Aurifil Thread that has come in the Fat Quater Shop once a month boxes. I use mostly white and neural colors except special sewing. Congratulations on your 10th Anniversary.
i love Aurifil thread! I have started wool embroidery as well and it is wonderful!
I like sewing with neutrals. I’ve not tried Aurifil thread and this would be the perfect opportunity to try!
I like to piece with neutral colors! Thanks for the giveaways:)
Love all colors. I have way more thread than I’ll probably ever use but gotta have that color.
I love colored thread and have many. I use them to piece to match the fabric but also use neutrals with the lighter fabric. You are truly a day brighter Pat.
I love color in my Aurifil thread especially when I appliqué. When I am piecing I tend to go with basic colors like white, beige, gray and black. My sewing machine and I love Aurifil and how well it sews!
Aurifil thread is awesome! The neutrals would be great!
When I am piecing I use neutrals. But for quilting I love to use colors.
