  1. Thank you for all that you bring to the quilting community! I enjoy your videos as an inspiring visit with a friend, accessing them through your Facebook group. Each email is read completely (why would I chance missing something important?), and more news is always welcome.
I first met you when the Splendid Sampler debuted and have sewed along with you on many projects. I especially enjoy seeing your thought process in choosing fabrics for a quilt or a block! Thank you for your generous and joyful style!

  2. I have not made a quilt fora wedding gift. I had a top that I did as mystery quilt at a retreat that my son loved. I had planned to finish it and give it to him and his girlfriend for a wedding gift, but they broke up a year later & so I finished it and gave it to a co-worker, who I met 20 years ago as a new nurse, as a retirement gift. I plan to make him a completely different quilt for him when he does finally find β€œthe one” and marries.

  3. I made my niece a quilt for her wedding. It used a layer-cake in Asian themed fabrics & Drunken Path blocks set in different configurations. The backing was several complimentary fabrics in strips.

  4. I have not made a quilt for a wedding gift. I have gifted quilts for other occasions. The book sounds interesting.

  5. I have always love, the wedding ring quilt but when I give or make them as a gift I also ask them what they would like that way I know that they will love it even more

  6. I have made two wedding quilts, one for each of my sons. For my eldest son, I made a king size star pattern of some sort in teals and browns (they like cowboy) and for my youngest son, I made a queen size applique wildlife quilt (they like to hunt). I still need to make a quilt for my daughter (she’s been married for 6 years). Would love to receive the book πŸ™‚

  7. I haven’t made a wedding quilt for anyone but have made a few projects that I have given away. I would love to have the book though. I’ve read a lot of books that are set in TX and love them. Thanks for the giveaways and the sew alongs. I’m looking forward to doing the Jolly Bar one coming up. Fingers crossed that nothing prevents me from doing it.

  8. I’m getting ready to make my first wedding quilt! I love anything stars and am leaning towards something with a big star in the center and blocks out from that.

  9. I made a quilt for my son and his bride when they got married in 2005. It was a pinwheel pattern in jewel tones (her choice). My sister and I also made a double wedding ring for our parents for their anniversary when they renewed their vows. I enjoy reading quilting books, and have read many of the Elm Creek Quilt books by Joanna Chiaverini.

  10. I made a wall hanging where I fussy cut flower blocks and added alternating 4 patches. Put a flange next to the border. Not knowing the colors in their house, I kinda guessed. They loved it.

  11. I have made a custom applique quilt for one of my sisters. Long before the Bride and Groom walked up the aisle, I asked the couple for a list of things that made them think of each other. On one block, there is a bathtub overflowing with bubbles and the shiny fabric used for the bubbles have somewhat faded away but other than that, the quilt did hold up well over these past 25 years! It warms my heart that they actually use quilt as a quilt It was quite a fun quilt to make!

  12. Waxahachie is just south of Dallas. It pronounced “waakΒ·suhΒ·haΒ·chee”. Yes, we do have some town names that are a bit difficult to pronounce. I just sent made my first wedding gift quilt to the spa. It was not a double wedding ring. I’m not sure I am ready to tackle that one.

  13. I made a carpenter’s star quilt for one of my daughter’s friends when she got married. I made the modern snowflake for my oldest daughter when she got married.

  14. I have just presented Have a Heart quilt to my son and new daughter-in-law in oranges, her favorite color. I also made the same quilt in teals and blues for a good friend and her new husband.

  15. I made the double wedding ring quilt for my daughter when she got married 15 years ago she loves it. I love books that include quilting

  16. I like to make a quilt relevant to the couple. Ive made quilts with the couples college fabric if they met at collage or i use the colors that the bride has chosen for her wedding. Recently i made a Penn State quilt fir a friends son and a jewel tone quilt fir another friend’s daughter. Id love to read this book.

  17. I made a batik interlocking diamond quilt top for myself. My niece got married in August 2022. I had this top quilted and gave it to my niece and her husband as a wedding gift. I know it was appreciated and will be used.

  18. The quilt I made for my grandson when he got married was composed of alternating shoo fly blocks with solid blocks that had a 1 inch border. It was a king size so it was quite an undertaking, but I enjoyed every moment!

  19. I’ve made 2 wedding quilts. Both were lap quilts. The first one was a row quilt like a jelly roll race using blacks and reds. The second was a pinwheel quilt of creams and beiges. the brides and grooms picked the color.

  20. I have never made a quilt for a wedding. However, I do love the wedding ring quilt pattern. Some day…..

  21. I have made lots of quilts that were gifts, but never a wedding quilt. I am an avid reader and this one sounds very interesting. Have a great weekend.

  22. The first quilt I made for a wedding was commissioned – it was the Lone Star pattern and the couple and wedding were in Texas. Thanks for the giveaway!

  23. The quilt I make for a wedding quilt depends on the bride and groom! I like it to be a reminder of that special day, or a reminder of things they love. To be truthful, I never seem to get wedding quilts done from my own kiddos until the 5th anniversary!

  24. I’ve made a couple of baby quilts, which comes after, right? But I love cozy mysteries! And I love you Pat! And Gregg too!

  25. I haven’t yet made a quilt for a wedding. I had a friend get married and I made a table runner and placemats. It was in oriental fabric; reds and golds.

  26. I have never made a quilt for a wedding gift. But, my grand babies are growing up and one day I’ll be able to make wedding quilts for them.

  27. I made a simple large block on point quilt from a quilting magazine pattern in 2012 for our youngest daughter. I went with simple as I wanted to be sure it was finished for her wedding and I was just getting into quilting and knew I could do that. Thanks for sharing a book to read!
