  1. Every Thanksgiving I make pecan tassies from a recipe I found in a Winnie the Pooh cookbook. They were my Mom’s favorite dessert.

  2. Our Thanksgiving is always a family dinner with ALL the fixings…pot luck. We eat too much, of course. Thank you.

  3. The best part of Thanksgiving is being thankful to the Lord for all of His blessings which in my case is my wonderful family. I do love turkey, too!

  4. My favorite Thanksgiving tradition is making only dishes that are everyone’s favorite. That way everyone has a say in what we eat,… and then there are the butt buns… Funny mistake that we make every year.
My grandparents came to the states from Germany last 1030’s-early 1940’s and brought so many traditions with them. I miss the stollen that my grandmother made, but I enjoyed the weekend when all we did was bake cookies. Every kind of cookie you could think of. My Oma had no recipe, she just added a little of this and a pinch of that. Sandy Lee’s cookies remind me of one of the coolies we would make. Thanks Sandy and Pat!

  5. Our thanksgiving tradition is to have so much food in the early afternoon. We.couldn’t even eat desert until a couple of hours later. Then watch the Green Bay packers beat the Detroit lions.

  6. We always watch one Christmas movie on Thanksgiving night. When our kids were little, it was usually “The Polar Express”. In recent years, we’ve chosen to watch “Elf”.

  7. I decorate with a set of wooden pilgrims that I bought near Plymouth Rock when I was engaged 15 years ago. My new tradition is having my Autumn pumpkin quilt I made during one of your quilt alongs hanging in the living room. We balance going to Thanksgiving meals for both sides of the family most years, which takes some moderation to eat a noon and evening meal in different places.

  8. My favorite Thanksgiving tradition is making Pumpkin and Pecan Pies. After eating, we watch Hallmark movies…until it’s time to eat leftovers!

  9. We, since moving to El Paso, TX in 1990, have not had family nearby to spend holidays with so we kind of adopted some of the El Paso cultural things. We have brisket (marinated in Claude’s sauce before cooking!) and sometimes tamales if someone has made them. They’re very time consuming for me to make! Thanks, Pat, for so many cool projects and ideas!

  10. Our Thanksgiving tradition starts 4 days before Thanksgiving when I make pickled beets & eggs. I’m up early on Thanksgiving Day to cook and prepare for a day of eating good food and lots of laughter.

  11. I would love to win any of the cookie tins! I’ve tried every time you e done this! Maybe this year is my lucky year!

  12. Our family tradition is a Cranberry Salad, which is made with cranberries, whipped cream, and saltine crackers layered in a glass bowl.

  13. We always go around the table to tell something we are thankful for. This can be a very funny and Blessed time. One year my niece was thankful for breaks on the car because was daughter drove. They were 16.

  14. My family has always talked about what we are most thankful for. Since my husband passed last fall, I thought it would be really hard to say what we are thankful for but I can honestly say I’m so very thankful he was able to remember everyone, and that is end was peaceful and painless for him. For those two things, I will always give thanks.

  15. Getting all of my family together for a traditional turkey dinner is the best way to celebrate Thanksgiving.
To me, it is all about family.

  16. Fortunately this year, my 81st birthday falls on Thanksgiving day. It will be a quiet day for me as I live alone. My siblings and families live in Texas. My son and family have their own time in Jacksonville, Fl. I live in Gainesville, Fl and will spend the day piecing fabric blocks and just relaxing in the recliner. The cookies give away would be a nice gift.

  17. It is a tradition at our house, to draw names for Christmas after Thanksgiving dinner. We also take a family picture. Great memories.

  18. We had a foreign exchange student who lived for a year with us! She introduced us to many German recipes, and I also have my three German Grandma’s recipes for Lebkuchen. Our exchange student explained that it was because they had come from different regions of Germany. I would love to have some of the cookies!,

  19. My favorite thing about Thanksgiving is getting everyone together. The smell from the kitchen, 10 conversations going all at once, kids playing silly games and watching Christmas Story.

  20. I like big gatherings for Thanksgiving! Be with family or just friends, I enjoy the company. I am also a big football fan. So watching a football game is a must.

  21. On Thanksgiving, my Mother was up early getting the turkey ready and starting on the casseroles and making pies. She made a jello desert I could not wait to eat. She only made it on holidays. Then we sat around watching the parade. After our meal came homemade pumpkin pie (made from fresh pumpkin) and homemade whip cream.

  22. We are very traditional with our Thanksgiving
Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie. This year my son will do the turkey in his smoker. Nmmmm

  23. We go to church the night before and on that day the family would gather. Now I usually have it between the holidays since our families are getting bigger.
Either tin would be pretty to get, anything chocolate!

  24. Our Thanksgiving tradition is for everyone to come to my house, we provide the turkey and gravy and everyone else brings the sides, big potluck!
    Thank you Pat!

  25. I would love some gluten free cookies if not gluten free my family can enjoy them Our family tradition is to gather in my mother’s basement. She is paraplegic. She has a modified house Every one comes a little early and helps with cooking My sister brings home made rolls. I bring a special jell0 layered salad and all the kids sit around laugh and joke with each other,

  26. A Thanksgiving tradition in our family is for my husband to brine and roast the Turkey while I make all the side dishes. Since we all have different jobs/life many of our children work on the holiday so our eating time is not set and our holiday is a revolving door home for everyone to stop by when they can.

  27. Our tradition is to go around the table after dinner and each person states one reason they are thankful! It’s especially fun to hear from the children.

  28. My family started a Turkey Trot a couple years ago – after everyone is sufficiently stuffed, but before dessert, we go for a good walk. We surely don’t burn off as many calories as we eat, but at least we feel a little better!

  29. Making cranberry sauce. This is family tradition, we dont buy the can it a can. So, making it, grinding the cranberries, apples, and oranges.

  30. Getting together with whatever family can make it. Trying out a new recipe especially dessert!! Thanks for your fun informative videos!!

  31. Since the extended family is no longer here (or near), it is just my husband and me. I make him a pumpkin pie each year. The cookies sound wonderful – the mixed would be a great way to try them. All the tins are pretty!

  32. I love Thanksgiving! Family gathers, we all bring a dish and the feast is bountiful! So fun to share and we come away with some great recipes!
