Giveaway rules that I have to tell you about

60 Responses

  1. My favorite quilt I made was when I first started quilting my grandson was about 6 maybe. He wanted a sock monkey quilt. It had to be big and I wasn’t very versed in quilting so what I did was buy packs of bright colored charm packs with sock monkeys to assemble. It wasn’t perfect however, I got it together. It is now called the monkey blanket and he is 15 and still uses it.

  2. The favorite quilt I have made was Sweet Childhood Memories. I had a lot of fun making this quilt. It one of only two quilts that I have ever kept for myself. Thank you for your wonderful videos.

  3. My favorite quilt is still Grandma’s Kitchen. It was my first sew along, my first asymmetrical setting. I LOVE all memories sewn into it. Thank you so much for all you do!

  4. My favorite quilt was 1st one I made for my granddaughter. It is a bright colored tumbler pattern with various animals. She would lay it out and point at the different animals. She was probably 18 months old. She’s 7 now. Thank you for this opportunity and everything you do for us.

  5. My favorite quilt was a summer pinwheel quilt in oranges and yellows. I also liked the Halloween sew along quilt. Love seeing all of the creativity everyone has.

  6. Hi Pat from the Winter side of the world! My favorite quilt that I’ve made is my sewing machine wall hanging from your patterns many years ago. I was very new to your site and not too computer savvy! I used a lovely red and black appliqued roses climbing over my sewing machine with gold highlights. It was so much fun, and I loved actually being in touch with you as well as learning new skills from you. Congratulations on achieving your goal of 100,000 followers! An amazing achievement, Pat.

  7. My favorite quilt was one made with CataWauling Panel. Whimsical cats with bright colors. It was the only quilt I put in a local quilt show to be judged. The judge did not like a single thing about it. I dont need that kind of negativity in my life so now I put quilts in the show and check do not judge.

  8. My favorite quilt was started 15 years before it was finished and gifted. I started it from scraps when my daughter was a baby. Life happened and I never finished it. It survived several moves and was finally finished and gifted to her for her high school graduation. She took it with her through all of her military stations. When we visited her last Christmas, it was on my grandson’s bed. That quilt is 36 years old now and still so very loved! It had a yellow background, but I have no idea what the pattern was called.

  9. My favorite quilt was what I gave to a neighbor that was moving. I called it The Tim quilt. There was a tractor panel in the center and I made slot of different blocks that circled it. Each block was a fun challenge. I used tips I got from watching your YouTube to help me decide on fabrics. It was fun to be creative in making the different blocks. My neighbor did the spa treatment as I couldn’t physically do that. To this day it brings joy in remembering the journey.

  10. My favorite quilt I’ve made so far is a Christmas Tree quilt I made for my child a few years ago. The first quilt I fully finished! Love seeing you on video each day. Thanks for being there and teach us so many wonderful things.

  11. My favorite quilt has to be my first ever quilt … a crib size sampler for my first grandson, in blues and greens … Huckleberry Finn and friends. Probably above my non-quilting abilities, included Y-seams. I didn’t know any better. I was told it was a beginners class, at my local quilt shop. I was definitely hooked after that. I can’t believe it’s been 21 years! Now I am finally getting a label on it, and mending a small section of binding, for his first child to use. Of course, she does have her own “first quilt”, but nothing like passing a much loved quilt down to the next generation.
Thank you for all your quilting insights and encouragement. I thoroughly enjoy your daily videos on YouTube.

  12. .y favorite quilt is a Drunkard Path with a twist that I made for my son and daughter in law for their 10th anniversary. It’s a queen and it’s reversible.

  13. My favorite quilt is the one I just finished which is your Summer Soiree using Tula Pink’s Homemade. I finished the top with the SAL but didn’t get it quilted and bound until a couple of weeks ago. I LOVE it! Right now it is on my couch so I am looking at it all the time and thinking, “that is sooo pretty, and I made it!”

  14. My favorite is a block of the month from a nearby quilt shop, years ago. It used Thangles, which were fun, but had to use the given fabric which was shades of purple (my least favorite color). I decided to add squares and make it for my daughter’s bed. I let her pick out the backing- pink and purple striped denim. It is beloved to this day.

  15. Well I have so many favorites of course. My favorite quilt was the patriotic U.S. flag quilt that I made my niece, Katelyn when she enlisted into the U.S. Navy. I did not have a pattern to work from and the stars were exceptionally challenging to say the least. I worked the hardest on that quilt but I guess that is why the investment I made into it makes it my favorite.
Thank you for all you do!

  16. My favorite quilt was the first one I made. I called it ‘Randy’s Ugly Christmas Quilt’. I didn’t have a pattern, had no sense of bed sizing. I picked out fabrics that reminded me of Randy (brother) that fit the criteria he gave me. He wanted a green and red quilt. So I found Lori Holt fabric with bits of recipes for his love of cooking. He hates the phrase, “Oh my god!” so when I came across the choc chip cookie fabric with OMG! on it I had to use it. He was born on St Patrick’s Day and I had to order from Fat Quarter Shop (my first order there!), there were fabrics that reminded us of shirts that Mom would make for herself, vintage Santa prints. It was just a jumble of missmatched fabrics slapped together and it was big enough to fit a king size bed! He loves it!

  17. My favorite quilt is my son’s quilt. I started it and stopped for several years because it was not “perfect “. Then the mice loved it. I recovered what I could. Got new fabrics from 4 different states and pieced it back together. It humbled me It taught my son and I that life isn’t perfect. With perseverance beautiful things can happen. I also love my husbands Asian quilt I made.

  18. My favorite quilt is a queen size butterfly appliqué that took several years and then I had it handquilted by a group of ladies.
I’m working on a second one.

  19. The favorite quilt I have made is a quilt with kittens dressed in dresses and fancy hats. I made it for my Aunt Marion to bring her a little joy.

  20. My favorite quilt was a tee shirt quilt which contains my grandson’s shirts, along with pics of him wearing each one. I made this for my daughter when he died at the age of nine. The quilt even has some pajamas with a worn out knee. ❤️

  21. My favorite quilt so far – is the one I did for my granddaughter’s graduation. I asked family and friends to write her a note on a heart shaped piece of fabric and to give me a tracing of their hand. I then cut circles of fabric with a meaning to her, then embroidered the outline of their hand on it and appliqued the hearts to the center. I then drew a tree with branches and used a fabric that looked like bark. There were so many that wanted to contribute that I did it reversible, family on one side and friends and favorite teachers of the other. The border was burgundy, her school color. A piece of my heart. Or maybe it was…..

  22. My favorite quilt is one in which quilters from my local quilting organization all made a Ohio star block and I put it together using fabrics from my stash. Each contributor used different fabrics. I am a beginning quilter and loved working with blocks from more experienced sewers.

  23. My favorite quilt I have made is a scrappy maple leaf throw. I shed the blocks log cabin style on 2 sides. It’s about18 years old, I still love it.

  24. My favorite finished quilt is a blue and white Jelly Roll Snowflake pattern from Fatquartershop. I also used Laundry Basket Designs for the border expansion, and the Falling Flakes pattern for the backing. I don’t normally sew a double sided quilt, but so happy I did with this one.

  25. My favorite quilt that I have made is one of Bonnie Hunters from a couple of years ago called “Grassy Creek”, It’s a king-size, and I used fleece for the backing plus the batting makes it nice and warm for our cold winter nights.

  26. My first quilt I made, was a baby quilt, for my son’s future baby boy. It’s a patchwork quilt, with blue fabric, some from me, some from mother’s stash I got when she passed 30 yrs ago, so I tried to incorporate some of that material into the quilt for my son’s future baby boy. My Second quilt I made was, a girl quilt for his future daughter. I think I got the future babies covered, Letterly…LOL 💜💚

  27. My favorite quilt I made is called Fractured Crystals by Linda Ballard. I made it in 2001 in greens, I have it hanging in my living room to enjoy. Thanks for the giveaway, love watching your videos and belonging to your group.

  28. My favorite quilt was on of my recent creation. It is a massive golden sunflower Dresden plate (center – 48 inches wide). It was for a gal who just is the definition of ‘sunshine.’

  29. My favorite quilt is a sampler quilt called Portage Lake. It has hand applique as well as pieced blocks and I had it professionally quilted because I spent so much time working on it. It’s beautiful and I consider it my heirloom quilt. Thanks for the giveaway. You are amazing!

  30. I haven’t made a quilt yet, a few table runners my favorite being one that is for fall with acorns. I love the colors in your giveaway quilt!

  31. My favourite quilt that I learnt so much with was “Main Street”. I used some replica 1900 prints called ‘Sarah’s story’. It is in tones of brown, russet, cream and a teal in varied small prints, I really cherish it.

  32. My favorite quilt is a very bright pink, purple and teal. It was a quilt kit that I bought years ago from Angela Walters I believe. I made it for myself and it is still on my bed. All of my kids wanted it but I did not give it away (which is hard for me) LOL!

  33. My favorite quilt is “Childhood Memories” I used a fat quarter bundle that I had purchased 2 years ago and was keeping for something special. It was a bundle of batiks in light to dark purples and deep, almost purple, blues. I had so much fun putting this quilt together. It was the first time I pieced different size blocks together to make the quilt.

  34. My favorite quilt was one that combined two of my favorite sewing loves counted cross- stich and the log cabin block. Each block (30 blocks) has a small 4 inch counted cross-stitch “country” design in the center of the log cabin design in blues and off whites.

  35. My favorite quilt that I have made( this morning- as it’s always changing) is a veggie quilt. My first Bluebonnet Shop Hop, here in Texas, there was a quaint house in downtown San Antonio. I found a quilt kit with veggie garden fabrics I really liked. Bought it, and it sat for 2 years. Finally put it together and gave it to my son and daughter in law. I love to see it. They use it as a picnic cloth, or to sit on at my grand daughter’s soccer game.

  36. My favorite quilt right now is a wall hanging that I made to hang in our new home. I took the center block from Hometown Charms and created a simple hanging to celebrate home in every sense of the word! For 2 1/2 years between houses, we stayed with wonderful family who gave so much to help us feel at home until we got to our new community. Then after we moved in and received a cancer diagnosis, we felt the love and support from our new community in our new home! We are so thankful for all of the support we receive each day from old friends/family and new and I can think of that each time I look at my quilted house!

  37. My favorite was Way Out West and still is a favorite but when my grandkids come over the first quilt cuddled up with is Home Is… I think it is the cute house block and I love that they cuddle up with one of my quilts.

  38. My favorite quilt is the first quilt I made. It’s a darling baby sized log cabin. A bumble bee quilt with reds, blacks, whites and yellows for the baby I was about to have. That baby turned 26 last month and recently got engaged. I was taught to quilt by a family friend, who is an excellent teacher and laid the ground work for the quilter I am today! She said I would be a great quilter and have a valuable lifelong hobby! She is a highly productive quilter at 77 and because of her I try to sew daily! It’s brings such joy to my life!!! Thank you Sandy!!!

  39. Good Morning Friend. Love your Log Cabin!! 100K Can’t wait to see how far you go. Thank you for being so generous and sharing your talent.

  40. One of my favorite quilts that i have made is Doug Leko’s Lakeside. I also love the one by Christopher Florence called Labrynth walk in grey tones that I make for my first grandson’s wedding.

  41. Good morning!! Love watching you! My favorite quilt I made was a memeory quilt for my mom and aunt using clothing from my gramma and papa. They turned out fabulous!!!

  42. That critter quilt is amazing!! I can’t wait to see the rest of them. You did a wonderful job of incorporating “leftovers.”
