  1. I am so glad that I got to watch your video today. Organizing my quilting and space has been a big problem for years. I have so many projects lined up to work on in the future, but I think it is a futile effort. You mentioned to decide on what will be worked on and what will still be put aside. At this point in my life, I have to decide on the now. So, I will have to work on the heartbreaking effort to decide on what I will be keeping and what I will be discarding/donating. Sometimes we have to forget about the eye candy and the “I want to make that” and look at reality. Sometimes we have to realize that we can’t do it all, but should enjoy what we can do. You gave a lot of great tips and broke things down so nicely.

  2. Love love love the reorganizing plan…will help tremendously as I have been rethinking my sewing space and desperately need a better plan. Have you ever catalogued your books or patterns so you know what you have? One of my current contemplations. Thanks for your inspiration always.

  3. I’ve been intending to declutter my very small sewing room to make it more efficient, as well as my spare bedroom where a lot of my bins, books and projects are stored. I’ve already culled some of my stash but needed a push to declutter and make my room work for me. Your 5 Step Road Map was just what my muddled mind needed to refocus and work in a more cohesive manner. I now have a plan, thanks to you! Thank you so much for sharing.

  4. Thank you for the great ideas! I definitely need to downsize my stash, including my scraps, so this will be so helpful!

  5. Yes I am definitely organizing!
I moved from a dedicated quilting creative room (larger room in a smaller house) to a larger house with rooms that are a challenge. Result: 1 primary sewing room with no closet yet plenty of dressers with dedicated drawer space in addition to a little shelving in the room (current and planning for projects as well as notions and some primary inspirational books); a secondary room with storage of extra fabric, backgrounds, batting, yarn, supplies for other crafts; a large (old dining solid oak table with cutting mats which provides for the large cutting and trimming space. That’s my first draft of the space sorting as I only moved 4 months ago. Cheers!! I call them studio 1, 2 and 3… maybe I should think of fun names?
Thank you for showing us first what you were digging into and then share the roadmap (like a great coach – “this is where we are going”).💕

  6. Five Steps Road Map – I have been taking part in Karen Brown’s Declutter Challenge for the past couple of years and find that this helps me get on track and it’s a good use of January!
Having said that I was looking for a particular backing last week and found that I actually have more than I even guessed at. I now have a list of what I have and am endeavouring not to buy any more until I have used up at least half of what I have :-).
I think that the Five Steps Road Map is a good structure to keep you/get you on track so that you are not overwhelmed by clutter and the unnecessary. So More Content Like This please.

  7. Lol I decided to have a few Oreos while watching this Pat! Thanks for all you do. It’s been a few years since I’ve reorganized. NOW is a great time to do it again!!Oh I smiled thinking of my birthday buddy Cindy when you spoke of her😊
