I’ve been fascinated for years about starting a project on the Winter Solstice and ending it on the Summer Solstice. That is 182 days between them this year.

A 182 days to focus on doing a project… something fun… creative.. free flowing. And doing it together is way more fun than by myself!.

I will be posting a FREE block every Wednesday. Most will be 12″ finished, but i might pop in something else.. I’m creating this as I go from my stash so you do the same… it’s a grand experiment in FUN! Somewhere along this journey I’ll give you a setting.

What to Do (otherwise known as the Details)

  • Enter your email to get a notice of when each block is posted
  • Make 25 blocks with me in 182 days
  • Find some fabric you love…. There is NO supply list.. this is a jump start in creativity, go with the flow and use up something you have. You can add to it as you go along.
    • A FQ Bundle plus a background
    • A layer cake.. or 2
    • Gather the basket of fabric scraps and go totally wild!
  • Share your block at the Quilt Show below by clicking the blue box (tutorial here on loading a photos)
  • Join me Online to share and ask questions!

Are you ready for my solstice challenge…keep reading!

  1. I have begun this and I really hope to stay motivated to get it done. I love the churn dash. Looking forward to making the next two this week.

  2. I am doing the Splendid Sampler…..this looks like fun as well, so here I go jumping in. I will post my pics when completed. I wish I knew if this was a two color choice or are some blocks choosing three? Oh, well….I guess it is sort of a mystery!

  3. Decided to join in after seeing all the great blocks!
Only got Number 1 done tonight but will be caught up by weekend 🙂

  4. What I love about Pat’s challenges – I love seeing all the different colour ways. It gives amazing insight to how colours work together, far better than doing it alone. I am enjoying the journey with everyone.
