Jan 1, 2017… the first page of our new year is so FULL of possibilities! My personal tradition is to be SURE I do a few minutes of ALL the things I want to do MORE of this year. For me that is…

  • Sew sew sew!!! did I mention sew?
  • Take a walk, I want to walk more
  • Take a few minutes to be relaxed, maybe read, look at a book, or just listen to some music. Take some time to let my mine think. I tend to be a go-go-go person and have to force myself to slow down.

The Quilt behind my Question is my new ‘Pinwheel Park’ Layer cake pattern + one fabric pattern, hope you make one!

I’m going to cut a simple quilt to send to my sewing granddaughter to put together. I am thinking of rejoining the church lady quilting bunch every other Thursday. 1. Here’s what I did on January first: I put borders on a very special quilt for my husband. (Please don’t tell. It’s a surprise!) I’m now cutting fabric for other projects. Happy New Year!

  2. Not totally sure it’s not to late to comment, but I’m planning to conquer breaking into my stacks of pre-cuts and using them! I’ve made one Moda Be My Neighbor quilt, need to make two more for the other grandkids! I’ve lived using Moda scrap bags on these!

  3. Really enjoying learning to be more scrappy. Also trying to use new colors for me like pink, orange and yellow. Thanks for the great blocks

  4. Looking at my scrap bags looking forward to starting block 1 of the solstice challenge. Thank you pat😊

  5. Setting up my RV to settle in for two months but brought with splendid sampler blocks to work on

  6. I am in the UFO Challenge, trying to get my close-to-completed projects done. Thank you Pat! Also working on Hexies…..among other things!

  7. My mother has made some beautiful quilts but now at age 90 she is not able to do what her mind thinks she can do. I’ve taken up quilting to be more in touch with my mother and now I’m hooked. We now are a team.
She is very good at pressing and handing out advice. Hope to have a winning team. We Love to look at all the artistic talent on face book.

  8. Excited to get started on the winter solace project this weekend. Currently working on a king sized quilt and a cover for a child’s car seat. I love all your fantastic patterns and toturials. Absolutely awesome. Thank you for everything you do for all of us! Love you from Wisconsin!

  9. Working on finishing a bom from 2015! Determined to finish it while stopping to make the Solstice blocks. 2017 will be my year to finish ongoing projects and learn to machine quilt, using your book. Those are my goals!

  10. Oh – 2017 – probably about 7 quilts, plus the Mystery and Children’s Library. Looking at the Splendid Sampler too. Wondering if I am letting this all get a bit out of hand. Like Pat, I want to walk more too. Some Christmas gifts planned to make, and some travel, too. Did I mention that I love retirement!

  11. Finishing a quilt for a bridal shower later this year and then making a king size quilt for an old collage friend.

  12. I’ll be looking at the fabrics I have (not a lot) and see what quilts I can put together. I also just found out my cousin is having a boy, so I’ll be making a baby quilt! I can’t wait to learn new patterns and techniques. I just moved to Alaska, so my crafts are all Alaskan themed now!!!

  13. I am a beginner, my mother in law taught me how to sew. Let me tell you I have loved it ever since. This last summer my nana gave me her sewing machine and this year I want to sew more and spend more time with family. Sewing means I can spend more time with my mother in law too! BONUS!!! SEW SEW SEW!!!!

  14. I am anxiously waiting for a box of fabrics I ordered to start the solistic squares, though I have a couple of tubs of fabrics already. 🙂However, I never seem to have enough of the particular fabric I choose as basic background and I then fall in love with several that are on sale, so I purchased them. As I wait, I am throwing out the 5 cats which have made my 2016 Christmas scraps their napping areas. With snow coming, I just may jump into square making then make a second set with the newly puchased fabric; making a jump start on 2017 Christmas gifts.

  15. Join our local quilt shop BOM program and try to inspire friends to see more while learning more fun quilting ideas daily!!💕Quilting❣

  16. I am cleaning up some unfinished projects by quilting and doing the binding. I am also cleaning up fabric and house, and preparing to return to school on the 22nd of January. So being quite productive in the next few weeks. As I go to school full time, 6 classes this semester, and one semester closer to becoming a teacher.
