**Summer Soiree… Mystery Sew Along Details***
If you are just joining me, hi friend! This sew along theme is inspired a 'Summer Soiree'.
soi·rée /swäˈrā/
"The definition of a soirée is a gathering or get-together, especially a posh or elegant one. A soiree is an elegant and intimate affair. It is an evening party held in a private house. While ambient music plays, guests engage in a variety of private conversation."

- Can I use Stash (fabric I own) - Yes! Pull out a bundle of beautiful fabric
- Will I use all the fabric - Not all of it. This is to give you variety, more is better!
- What are the Technique? - All Easy Pieced.
- NOTE: The Blocks do NOT LOOK like the topic of the week. This is not a pictorial quilt. I do a topic as it is way more fun than just plopping out a block. I love the memories and sometimes research that goes into the topic. That keeps my Sew alongs fun and unique.
***Fabric I'm using***
I'm using the Figs & Shirtings fat quarter bundle + background fabric from my friend Joanna. You will have some left over. I am so excited about using this fabric! I love that splash of black!
You do not have to use the same fabric as me. You can use any fabric you like

Hi Pat, loving your cross stitch university, The last thing I learned was how to make improv letters to make words on quilts. Up to now i have used alphabet fabric and fussy cut the letter to make words in my quilts. I have justfiniahed reading Sarah Falike’s book on all the various styles of letters you can make. Now I am practising some blocks and hope to make her Stitch definition quilt that she and Tula Pink made. Looking forward to more quilt learning. Your comment about which evening for a video, we actually I find it very long from your Sat. Video to a Monday evening video. I would actually prefer all your videos to be morning ones, so I can start off my mornings slowly sipping a tea and watching you, cheers.
I like your sew slings but I do not like trying to find anything in past on your sight. It really needs a SEARCH button. I have looked for over hour to find one specific block. No luck without going thru all your 17 pages.
Thank you so much for all you do for your peeps! You kept me going through 2020 during “you know what;” the death of my oldest sister; and my husband’s kidney cancer and loss of that kidney. If not for you, Lisa Capen, and the Missouri Star Quilt company I don’t know how well I would have made it. I spent many days cutting and crying and sewing and crying. I felt your pain when you fell and broke both wrists/arms. Your books are also great inspirations when there is time to sit and look for the next project. Again, thank you for everything you and your husband do!
