***IMPORTANT*** As of Today, My Website is going away at the end of September or it might close sooner. Everything will be GONE. Download what you want now at https://www.ilovetomakequilts.com/
I am looking at how I might be able to save a chunk of it, but due to helping my mom and the fact we only got 4 weeks notice, I can't promise anything at this point. I may not know until Sept 30 the final status. This is NOT in the video as a wonderful fellow Typepad blogger wrote me some info after this had been filmed.
As much as I wish I could answer all of you and help all of you get my old patterns, that is just not feasible. There are over 400,000 of you and just me. If you write me I won't be able to help you.
I know you mean well when you try to help someone find things, but it's not your job to do that. So PLEASE respect my copyrights and do NOT publish or give my patterns to anyone. I own all my pattern rights. That means I am the owner of them and the only person that can 'give' them away. You downloaded a copy for your personal use. That only means you can use that one copy for yourself.
Also I'm not adding any photos today or any other posts here as this will be gone in 2 weeks time Please visit my new place for articles https://substack.com/@patsloanva where you can subscribe and the whole article will come in your email

I consider myself organized, but ‘back in the day’ my way to organize the quilts I’d completed was to save the books and magazines. For some reason it never occurred to me to put them online. So now 800+ quilts later, I’ve decided it’s time to document as much as I can. It’s going to take awhile, but I think it will be worth it. As my friend Roberta told me once, just do a few at a time.

Due to my hosting company going out of business on 9/30/2025
My gallery is only back to 2018

On July 3 of 2021 we brought all the quilts into one spot – see videos below
Between July 3 of 2021 and Jan 20 of 2022 I gave over 100 pieces to charity
On January 20 to 22 I once again took all my quilts and sorted through them and tidied them up. That is the 2 photos above
Being a quilt maker for 30 years, with 22 of those in business as a Quilt Designer I amassed over 800 pieces, all sizes. Now it’s time to share many of these with charities.
I do decorate with them, rotate them, use them for my business, but I don’t’ need all of them.
**Gathering of the Quilts Episode #1**
Because this task seems so gigantic now, so many years of making, I’ve put it off many times. I’ll add more photos and links over time. Then as I start sorting my quilts (again) I’ll take photos and add them to the correct year. I label everything so knowing when they were finished is the easy part.
I was so honored to be asked by the Virginia Quilt Museum to donate a quilt for their permanent collection of quilts made by Virginia Quilters. On February 14, 2023 I visited the museum to deliver my quilt to its forever home.

Life on ‘Bonnie Lane’ is filled with wide front porches, neighborhood BBQ’s, weekend ball games, and white picket fences. This is a happy neighborhood where friends live, work, visit, and of course sew together! You’ll find clothes on the line, big cars to carry everyone to events, and of course a ‘Corner Store’.
No matter where you grew up, there are parts that evoke the sweetness of small town communities. I would get to my local ‘Corner store’ by going to the end of my grandma’s yard, then out into the alley. From there it was just one block up to Squires with a lunch counter, candy and yummy subs.
My neighborhood is filled with family dreams. Playing hopscotch in the street, going to the town squares, watching the night sky each summer for it to light up with fireflies.
Bonnie Lane’s prints are ‘every day’ usable, just like our neighborhood is enjoyed each and every day.
In my Neighborhood…where life on ‘Bonnie Lane’ is filled with wide front porches, neighborhood BBQ’s, weekend ball games, and white picket fences. This is a happy neighborhood where friends live, work, visit, and of course sew together! I’m so excited to finally be able to show you my new fabric line!
And I’m thrilled to be working with Benartex fabric to bring my vision of quilting fabric to life. They are the first fabric company I ever worked with when I started in the industry, so I’m delighted to now have them as my fabric partner.
** This will be in your favorite quilt shop in September, so ask them to order ‘Bonnie Lane’ for you! **
A peek at the Selvages
Maybe I finally need to do a Selvage edge quilt.
On Bonnie Lane you’ll find clothes on the line, big cars to carry everyone to events, and of course a ‘Corner Store’.
No matter where you grew up, there are things about where you live that remind us of the sweetness of small town communities.
My neighborhood is also filled with family dreams. Playing hopscotch in the street, going to the town square, and watching the night sky each summer for it to light up with fireflies.
There are 21 pieces in the line so you can own each one!
Over the next few days I’ll be talking about my fabric as I get ready for the trade show. You’ll want to follow along as when I get to Thursday afternoon I’ll show you the quilts in my booth!
Bonnie lane’s prints are ‘every day’ usable, just like our neighborhood is enjoyed each and every day.
Filled with blue, yellow, pale pink, green, coral, cream and charcoal prints
*** Patterns Using Bonnie Lane Fabric ***
Glow is a pieced pattern with instructions for multiple sizes
The neighborhood is the heart and soul of my fabric lines with Benartex. Each line will focus on a part of our community that we cherish. I’m creating fabric that we want to sew with and most of all live with.
I’ve been designing fabric lines since 2003 and I might have to say this is my favorite (shhhh. don’t tell the others )
Please Have your favorite quilt shop contact their Benartex fabric rep to order so you can get itwhen it arrives in September! Share this article with them and ask them to order ‘Bonnie Lane’ from Benartex for you!.
The universe is sending me challenges lately. The newest is that as of Sept 30 2025 (yes this month), my whole website will be gone. The company I’ve been with for 22 years is closing. There is no option to move to another platform with them.
Almost all of my photos and PDFs are on their platform and they do NOT come with the download of the website. This is a big problem.
What does this mean?
It means my website will be gone. You can try accessing things via the internet archive website, but the photos and PDFs may not be there. (links below)
What will I do going forward?
I have currently gone to a once a week video as I’m helping my mom navigate a difficult time.
I will NOT be recreating 22 years of articles, tutorials, and project pages
If you are looking for an older project of mine, go to the internet archive. Due the volume of items I created over the 25 years, I will not be sending you things you want.
Also please never GIVE my patterns to others. I still own the copyrights to ALL my patterns and I may eventually publish them. Just not right now. That means right now they are not published and you will just need to find another project to do. Just like a cereal that is no longer produced, you can not get that cereal anymore. It is gone. Nobody can give you a COPY of that cereal. Does this make sense? Please respect my copyrights.
There are about 550,000 of you wonderful friends on multiple platforms that follow my adventures and I’m grateful to each of you amazing people! Thank you so much!! I look forward to chatting with you on my videos and seeing your creations in my online communities. HUGS!!
