Add a bit of green

For years and years I had plants. From growing a dozen violets on my window sill at work, to spider plants at home. My life had greenery.

Once I started to work at home, and then travel, I didn’t keep houseplants. I didn’t really miss them. But recently with all the succulents and cactus everywhere, I got to thinking about them. When my niece shared photos of a home filled with plants my brain did a ‘click click click’.. and I decided to pick up a succulent.

I have no idea if my studio will have enough light for it. I’ve had to move it by the window during the day, which means it sits on my sewing table. No an ideal location.

I’ll have to see how this plays out

I am doing the one little word again this year and this month our focus is to do something as a habit everyday. So I’ve been really thinking about what I want to do EVERYDAY

I’m already doing the one photo a day. See them at my Facebook Personal Page But I want to do something that’s interesting or even….. heaven forbid…. healthy. I have a few ideas. And my self imposed deadline of less than 24 hours to decide.

My healthy option is to start stretching everyday. It’s what I’ve been wanting to do it for way too long … like a few years now. I really haven’t made it happen so I really should decide that in March I stretch every day.

Another option I’ve had is to do a daily thought about what I’m grateful for. Or something I think is cozy and makes me feel good. Like a putting on a pair of warm socks out of the dryer. When you decide to do a list like that you really have to think about things instead of zooming through life. This idea came from reading a few books that made me think about what I do and why I do it

I sometimes read several books at once……… okay let’s be real ……. I ALWAYS read several books at once. They are nonfiction so I just skip between them and read a chapter a few paragraphs and then switch to read another one. Often reading one Sparks an interest in reading even another book… and so it goes.

That is how the idea of writing about something that makes me happy makes me feel cozy as my once a day haibt came to mind. And I think I want to do.

And I should stretch everyday too…. right?

Stretch and do a daily thought at same time.

Hi Pat! I’d love to know what books you’ve been reading lately that have you thinking about life habits. I enjoy these types of books too. Might be a good blog post. Another healthy idea is daily yoga. I’ve been doing Yoga with Adrienne on YouTube. You can do it in your home so no embarrassing poses in a class! Lol.

Stretches and/or Tai Chi… And buy yourself fresh flowers, at least once per week. Publix has lovely bunches for $4. Arranging them is very relaxing to me. 🙂

Hi Pat! You are soooo motivating. Putting it lightly by just suggesting these short goals makes me want to join in. For my 10 minutes of sewing a day 🙂 I am doing a temperature quilt…to this list of high and low temps I am going to add my grateful thought of the day. And when I’m done, do some stretching (hopefully). Thanks, Karen
